FLOYD SHOULD HAVE HELPED ME!

June 29, 2015

50 Cent is once again pointing the finger. The G-Unit front man claims the reason why SMS Promotions failed, was due to the lack of assistance by his so called best friend, Floyd Mayweather. SMS Promotions filed for bankruptcy last month, within the filed documents it states both 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather made plans of becoming business partners. Due to Floyd Mayweathers legal issues, and jail time, their plans of launching a joint boxing promotional team was put on hold. Instead of waiting until Floyd’s three month sentencing was completed, 50 Cent continued with the business venture without Mayweather. Unable to reach a high level of success, in May of this year SMS Promotion filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

KILLER MIKE & CONFEDERATE FLAG
June 29, 2015

Killer Mike has used his platform to speak up for those who are unable too. Fighting against an unjust system can be tiring for some, but for Killer Mike it only encourages him to speak louder and push harder for what he believe in. The ATL rapper has touch on great deal of issues throughout his career, and during a phone interview with Fader magazine he shared his views on the controversy surrounding the Confederate Flag, Killer Mike's insight offers a clear view of how we all should look at this issues.

FADER INTERVIEW: "If your great great grandfather participated on the Confederate side and you hold some sentimental value to that, and you want to fly the flag and hang their picture up in your home, that’s fine. But it should not be on anything that taxpayers pay for, because

taxpayers are a part of the Union not the Confederacy. It has no place in the building, no place on the building, no place around the building." For some, the flag is a reminder of  the on going fight for freedom. A reminder of how far we have come in our quest for equal right, respect and justice.

Kendrick Lamar delivered a jaw dropping performance at the 2015 B.E.T. Awards, Sunday night. The song performed was “Alright” which is off of his latest album “Pimp a Butterfly”. During the performance Kendrick Lamar stood on top of a police car with the American flag waving behind him. The song offers a sense of hope for those who feel hopeless and a voice for those who feel they have no voice. Through his lyrics the Compton rapper carries the message, don’t give up-keep fighting. We’re living in a time where black lives are treated as if it has no value. As each week come and pass, stories of young black men murdered by law enforcement-without probable cause covers both television screens

and magazine covers. Kendrick Lamar’s opening performance sends a clear message, “We gon be alright.” #Blacklivesmatter.
