Jan. 6, 2016 Reports:

Tyga has found himself on the wrong side of headlines this week. The Compton rapper has now been accused of sending inappropriate messages to a 14-year-old girl. The alleged victim, Molly O’Malia, has come forward with claims that Tyga contacted her under the guise of a recording opportunity.

O’Malia, who appeared with her lawyer, Gloria Allred, held a press conference after a tabloid published a story alleging that Tyga and O’Malia had a sexual relationship. O’Malia refuted those claims and says her and Tyga’s correspondence never extended beyond social media, but did admit that Tyga initiated contact with her and claims that his intentions had nothing to do with music.

“The truth is that Tyga contacted me first. He direct messaged me on Instagram. I knew who he was but I was surprised that he was contacting me,” O’Malia said in a statement. “I thought that it could possibly be about my music, but he did not mention that in his initial communication with me. I thought that was strange, but I was thinking he would bring that up in his next message to me. However, he didn’t mention it in the next message.”

She continues to detail their exchanges, stating “I began to feel uncomfortable when he asked me to FaceTime with him. He asked me to FaceTime 3 times, but I did not do it. Because of my discomfort with why he wanted to communicate with me I quickly stopped responding to him. It’s crazy how so much can come out of nothing.”

For those skeptical about her reasoning for speaking out, O’Malia said it’s simply “because I don’t want what happened to me to happen to any other young girl.”
